MANUFACTURING PLAN OPTIONS -
DEFINITIONS
THE THREE MOST POPULAR
PLANS:
|
|
| |
Contract
Manufacturing
An existing Mexican company manufactures products to
your specifications and ships the finished products back to your Company,
billing you on a pre-arranged piece-price basis. In some cases, your Company
can also provide the necessary component parts on consignment, paying only for
the cost of labor to assemble those components into your Company's product.
Contract Manufacturing is the easiest way to "test the waters" with least
amount of commitment and exposure.

|
| |
Direct Ownership
Your company sets up its own Mexican
company and runs it just as you would one of your own divisions. Often times,
this can be too much for a company to take on, at least as an initial
experience with Mexico.
|
|
| |
Shelter Plan
Under this plan, an existing Mexican company provides
the administrative support services (i.e. Personnel, payroll, customs
documentation for importing and exporting, etc.) but your company is in charge
of running the production floor. This plan allows you to focus on manufacturing
while being "sheltered" from the red tape.
